Woodturning courses come with many questions and we have tried our best to cover the common ones, please don't hesitate to contact us if there is anything you would like to know.
Can I bring my own tools and equipment?
Of course! Many students prefer using there own tools. Learning with your own woodturning tools can help you get to grips with the craft quicker as Joes tools maybe ground to a different angle that your not familiar at home, making it harder to build muscle memory.
Is there an age limit to woodturning courses?
Yes, for the safety of the student and teacher there is a minimum of 16 years age limit. However Joe is happy to teach under 16s but it won't be a hands on for them, demonstrations only. Please enquire for this using the booking form.
What is the availability for woodturning courses?
Simply use the contact form to enquire about a date you would like to take a course on, we will work with you to find a mutually agreed course date if your chosen date is already filled.
Do you need to already have experience in the craft to take a course?
Of course not, Joe teaches beginners all the way to advanced students. Please specify when booking and Joe will tailor the day to you.
Is PPE provided?
Definitely, Safety is first we provide all PPE equipment so the course remains safe and fun for all.
How do I book a woodturning course?
Simply pick the course you are after on the course list and contact Joe at the bottom of the page to enquire, we will get back to you as soon as we can.
Can my friend/partner come with me?
Yes but only on two person courses. You both will get a states of the art lathe all the necessary tools and equipment for the course.
Do you offer regular woodturning courses?
Yes of course, this is a popular way of developing your woodturning skills. Also Joe offers discounts on block bookings! Please enquire for this using the contact form at the bottom of the page.
Do I need a packed lunch?
On any full day woodturning course Joe and Ellie provide lunch at no extra cost. When booking on to a course you will be asked if you have any dietary requirements.

What should I wear to a woodturning course?
Old clothing, woodturning is a messy shaving filled fun time.The 3 musts when working at a lathe is, no open toe shoes, no jewellery and hair must be tied back.
What will I turn on my course.
